The First Entry

Now in the beginning of my final year of graduate school, I have decide to start a research blog.

The long title is:

Doug's Computer Audition Blog (CAB): public transportation in the vicinity of machine learning, signal processing, and information retrieval

The plan is to give commentary Computer Audition research from the perspective of an emerging researcher in the field. However, I am sure the commentary will be tempered by my personal evolution as a move away from my meager grad student existence to whatever grand plan lies ahead.

On tap for this year:

1. Writing a thesis
2. Putting together papers
3. Finding a postdoc or faculty postion
   
4. Starting a company

Hopefully the stress from all this will lead to some insightful and creative thoughts...
